Have you reinstalled windows on both pcs? Because you can't just put a card in and expect it to work. Mine did it to me the other week, made a change, it didnt recongnise it, and i had to reinstall windows for my server and my other pc.

[glow=red,2,300]Whoa harsh m8 very harsh reinstalling winblows to make a Lan work ouch m8 Nah simple thing first are they both running xp? if so run the "Setup home/small office network wizard" ON BOTH machines, make sure that you tell the NETWIZ which machine connects to the internet though or else this will cause probs too, once the NETWIZ has ran you should only have to do a reboot then wait for the Lan to become active, if this does not work let me know:)[/glow]

LOL, yea was harsh. I ran the wizard on both pcs about 10 times, making sure i had the right one on each. Good old winblows didn't like it, so i thought FUCK and just reinstalled lol.

[glow=red,2,300]Should have given me a shout m8, in that sort of case your better off setting the lan up manually using the ip addresses etc One other thing Jose you never said whether you are using a Hub or just one cable, if it is just one cable are you sure it's the correct type? crossover or not?[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Again Jose do you know what kind of cable you are using? for example there are 2 types of cable in a Lan for a simple pc to pc link you would use a crossover cable, this is the one you need however I suspect you may have a Lan cable intended for use with a network hub, the wiring in this is a lot different and will in no way work between 2 machines, I suspect you may have one of these, check the ends of your cable what colour are they? Red or Grey? If Red then it should be a crossover cable, and the problem could then be down to your individual ip addresses. Let me know Also have a look at this page it has a pretty straightforward diagnostic chart on it www.fonerbooks.com/network.htm [/glow]
