Sometimes when im on my pc, i have XP, it comes up with one of those errors that you can report. It says something like win32 and then after that, i cant get my sound to work. It works fine before this error comes up. Its getting annoying having to restart if i want to use sound.
Can anyone help?

[glow=red,2,300]Can you tell me what souncard you are using? is it onboard or a slot in one? Also do you have any programs running in the background that use the soundcard? are they neccessary? if not configure the prog in question, not to use the sound. It's worth checking that your directx is running ok as well, simply goto your RUN command from your start button, enter the following, DXDIAG hit return and let this run, once the bar at the bottom has filled up go through the pages until you come to your sound section, there are one or two tests you can run from here, it will also let you know of any other problems. Hope some of this helps if not catch me on msn at some point [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]If directx comes up with no problems, try finding out the make/model of your soundchip, you can get it by going to your control panel and opening the system settings, once there look under the hardware tab and look for audio/sound controllers, then look for the audio card, you can find out the make in here, it might simply be a case of getting newer drivers for your card, if your using XP and its autoupdating software, it may have inadvertantlyoverwritten a "good" set of drivers for this card, Kindly old Uncle Bill doing his dastardly deeds again [/glow]
