[glow=red,2,300]A sad day for all music fans today, you may or not have heard that John Peel sadly passed away today, A more inspirational man within music there never will be again, for those of you who never heard of John Peel, without this man you would not have so many fantastic groups around today, he was a major pusher of all forms of music on radio one, and such bands as Coldplay, Pulp, Blur, The Cure, Happy Mondays, New Order to name but a few bands, that he promoted via the airwaves of Radio 1 Rest In Peace John[/glow] www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/news/altnews/041026_john_peel.shtml

Indeed. Without John Peel, I would never have been introduced to the sounds of many bands. The ones that stick in my head though have to be The Butthole Surfers and the Jack Officers. That was what was great about John Peel, he didn't have a particular musical taste, just cause something was bracketed "dance" or "thrash metal" he would give everything an equal listen and if it was good, it was good.
