[shadow=purple,left,300]I'm working on a friends computer: I've uninstalled McAfee twice now, and as soon as the computer restarts, it reinstalls itself. I went into MSCONFIG and set it so that it wouldn't start up.. restarted the computer and it was now set so it would start. I set it so that it wouldn't scan upon startup and I restarted the computer and it again scans upon startup.
Any idea how to get rid of this bloody program? It causes IE explorer to take at least one minute to even pop up, let alone load a page. Her computer is slower than snail-mail and it's driving her and I crazy.[/shadow]

your probably gonna have to get a registry tool and cut it out the hard way you can use regedit (start/run) and locate the the main folder and delete it make sure you get all the folders that it on the compy then try a reboot becarefull useing regedit tho you can really mess up some stuff big time

Well, I finally figured out the problem... apparently the network at school is set up to REINSTALL McAfee if it is ever uninstalled and there's no way to stop it from doing that unless the admin goes into the settings for that computer and unchecks all the boxes that make McAfee reinstall. So... my hands are tied on this one.
