ok folks I managed to get more info on the movie.
DIRECTOR: Paul Anderson (IMDB listing) Previous Works include Resident Evil (2002), Soldier (1998), Event Horizon (1997), Mortal Kombat (1994). On July 15th it was confirmed announced that Paul Anderson had been given the task to write and direct this film.
STORYLINE: (From Variety) The storyline will center on a human scientist on a distant planet who produces an ALIEN in hopes of luring the PREDATOR hunters to the planet. Producer John Davis was quoted in Entertainment Weekly that the film would take place in "near-future Earth." A more refined storyline (From Filmjerk): Human scientists going on an expedition to Antarctica to lure Predator hunters, using Alien eggs as bait. Of course, these plans quickly goes awry and the humans find themselves in the crossfire between two warring alien species.
SPECIAL EFFECTS: Amalgamated Dynamics Variety reports:
Amalgamated Dynamics has been recruited to design and create the creature effects for Alien vs. Predator, Fox's upcoming matchup between two cult characters. The company is headed by Oscar-winning f/x vets Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr., have created effects for previous installments of Fox's Alien franchise, including Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. For Alien vs. Predator, Amalgamated Dynamics will design and perform the animatronic versions of the 'Alien' and 'Predator' creatures, as well as makeup and other on-set effects for the film.
CAST: Casting Directors: Donna Isaacson and Christian Kaplan. Cast is currently Unknown. Rumor Mill: - September 29, 2003 - Variety reports that Lance Henrikson playing a billionaire industrialist (Charles Weyland).
BUDGET: Unknown.
PRODUCERS: The list of producers will probably include: John Davis, David Giler, Lawrence Gordon, Walter Hill, and Joel Silver. Since both the Predator and Alien franchises are well developed properties, many producing teams and people from both series will be included.
RELEASE DATE: Unknown. Paul is no longer helming the sequel to Resident Evil:Nemesis, as Producer John Davis has lured him to concentrate soley on the upcoming movie. Expected production will bevin in late 2003 or early 2004, with an expected release of 2005. However, it does appear that FOX has set a release date (according to Variety) of August 6, 2004.
LOCATION: Prague is the rumoured location shoot. The movie takes place in Antarctica, so perhaps places in Northern Canada, Norway (Empire Strikes Back's "Hoth"), Russia?
CHARACTERS: FlimJerk gave up this list of supposed characters. Please consider rumour until officially confirmed. [Nathan's Note: I find some of the names rather contrived; notice that Charles Weyland and Verheiden seem to be direct references not only to the Alien series (Weyland Yutani company) but also Mark Verheiden (Writer of several excellent Dark Horse Comic series involving the 'ol ALIEN. Of course, that could be all planned...]:
Alexia “Lex” Homer: In her late 20s, Lex is stunning, buff, courageous, and intelligent, as well as the heroine of this film. She is an environmental researcher hired by Weyland Industries to keep everyone on the expedition “alive,” as the head of the company puts it. A tough cookie, with a good sense of humor, she has a history of guts and glory having been the youngest to climb Mount Everest without oxygen tanks. Lex is initially second in command to Max Stafford, but when all hell breaks loose, she must assume full leadership of the remaining crew. She is not only a survivor, but a true warrior as well. Sebastian Wells: Wells is an American archeologist in his early 30s who is very passionate about his work. Described as “unshaven and rumpled, yet also handsome and charming,” Sebastian joins the team and has an instant chemistry with Lex. His expertise, and fervid beliefs often has him butting heads with his boss, whom he feels has his priorities askew. Verheiden: A tanned, muscular European, Verheiden is an Egyptologist who is just as much “at home with manual labor as with a text book.” He also has a romantic history with Lex, which ended rather precariously. This is evident when they are reunited on Weyland’s team, and Verheiden notices that Sebastian is his likely rival. The casting agents are looking for someone who speaks with a strong accent. Charles Weyland: In his early 40s, Weyland is a driven billionaire industrialist with blue eyes and shock of dark black hair, giving him the air of a sportsman or movie star. This zealous, all-knowing patron of science has a secret beneath his virile bravado and cultured manner: He is dying of cancer. He is a man rapidly decaying, with his signature 9-iron golf club really serves as his cane and his cataracts disguised by blue contact lenses. Weyland has no intention of dying without first leaving a legacy for humankind. He finances the expedition, chooses its team members and insists on coming along— no matter what the consequence to his health. Max Stafford: An “elegant, handsome man of Afro-Caribbean descent,” he is well over 6 feet tall and speaks with a clipped, precise English accent. Max is Charles Weyland’s right arm - a loyal spokesman and ex-soldier whose job is to assemble and lead the expedition team. Quinn: He is muscular, arrogant and brutish, a leathery skinned Texan who is in charge of the expedition’s drill team. Quinn must face the aliens alone, and ends up narrowly escaping death. According to the character notes, his second confrontation with the enemy doesn’t go nearly as well, it seems. Miller: A dedicated scientist who looks the part. He wears thick glasses, and his age is undeterminable. He's also a bit clumsy and is self-effacing and awkward around women - something Lex notices firsthand. A chemical engineer, Miller is an integral part of the expedition whose astute observations and knowledge of metallurgy help unlock the mystery behind Weyland’s discovery.
The post is so big I had to make 2

Alien Vs. Predator - Quotes * - April 28, 2003 John Davis (Producer) Exceprt from the Calgary Sun, April 28 2003. Writen by Louis B Hobson. Interview with Producer John Davis: Monster Mash Davis has lured director Paul S. Anderson away from the sequel to his 2002 hit Resident Evil. Anderson wrote the sequel to Resident Evil Nemesis and had planned to direct it in Toronto in August but has turned the reins over to Alexander Witt, who was a second unit director on the first film. “Paul has agreed to work for me on my Alien vs Predator Project, which I hope to put into production either this fall or early in 2004,” says Davis. “We’re working on the technology now for the two creatures. I purchased the rights to the Alien creature several years ago and I produced the two Predator movies, so I own that creature. “Before we can even think about casting, we have to work out a budget because Alien vs Predator will be a very big CGI special effects movie.” Resident Evil Nemesis is scheduled to open in 2004, and Anderson’s girlfriend Milla Jovovich will reprise her role as Alice. Erick Mabius returns from the first film, but this time he’s talking Jovovich. Fans may have to wait until 2005 for Alien vs Predator. * - July 13, 2002 Stan Winston commented on the probability on an Aliens Vs Predator and Alien 5 during an apperance at Wizard World Chicago.
